We spent the day at the Santa Fe Museum of International Folk Art. During our tour, the docent asked the assembled group, what makes folk art different from fine art?
Random woman: SOUL! It has SOUL!
Docent: You mean, fine art has no soul?
RW: That's exactly what I mean.
Wonderful collection, especially Alexander Girard's miniatures. And, there was a special exhibit on Japanese kites. We also made our own kites, and flew them unsuccessfully outside.
Later, we had lunch at The Shed, and then took the commuter rail to Albuquerque to meet up with Nicole, my old college friend.
Wonderful day.
